Hell Michigan!!!  What a dream to Run Thru Hell!  We parked in a dirt lot across from the Hell Creek Ranch.  I choose to run the weiner run and I loved the hotdog man representing it on the bright yellow race shirt.  There were a lot of runners and a lot of bathrooms for us.  It was mainly a gravel road course.  It had some good hills....More

        North Mitten 2021 Photos 218 Mile Drive Registration:   I loved the North Mitten medal.  It is what drew me to the race.  Anytime I can receive a medal shaped like Michigan or with Michigan on it, it’s amazing.  North Mitten had three race distances, a half marathon, 10K and 5K.  I registered late for the half marathon, but it was still a good price.  There was a lot of information on Sport Nomad about the race.  I had never been on Sport Nomad’s website before.  They had a very detailed description of the event.  On both Crystal Mountain and Sport Nomad it stated that the courses were a mix of trails, dirt roads and paved roads.  The three events would start a half hour apart with the 5K last.  Two awesome things I learned on the registration page were:   1.      Participants could plant a tree (trees were available at packet pick-up) or donate a tree and let North Mitten plant i...

POLY ANN TRAIL 4 MILER (Dryden - 2021 - 4 Mile)

    Poly Ann Trail 4 Miler Photos 135 Miles Registration: The Poly Ann Trail 4 Miler was on RacePlace.com and RunSignUp.  Both websites had the same information.  The information online was very brief.  The description was a small paragraph.  The course started and finished at Dryden Memorial Park, went south down the Poly Ann Trail to a turnaround that was not the two-mile halfway point.  We would go off the trail into General Squier Park, circle around the parking lot and come back to the Poly Ann Trail.  The race start and finish time was listed online with the address.  There was nothing online about awards, packet pick-up, shirt, finisher medals etc.  I could not find a social media page for the Poly Ann Trail 4 Mile Run/Walk.  It was a run that kept a lot a mystery.  I loved the idea of running in a town like Dryden that only has one run a year (that I have found so far).  I also love running on the 34.2 mile Poly An...

BELDING LABOR DAY 5K (Belding - 2019 - 5K)

   Belding Labor Day 2019 Photos 129 Mile Drive We woke up very early and drove out to Belding, MI for their 2019 Labor Day 5K.  The start of the run was right by the Belding water tower.  The course was beautiful with Flat River views and incredibly friendly runners.  Running past the Belding museum and Belding library was very cool.  The historical architecture of Belding was awesome to look at.  It was a hilly course that went in and out of neighborhoods.  The enthusiasm of the announcer, "Duck Man" was out of this world.  I was so excited he let me take his picture.  They announced the last runners coming up and everyone gathered to applaud them. The last woman even landed herself an age group award!  All runners stayed for the entire age group ceremony.  People didn't leave after getting their awards.  I liked that the crowd stayed for the older awards.  For me they are the most amazing and inspiring awards....
